Harry Potter's Wizarding World

The character of Harry Potter has become a hero for our times since first introduced by writer J.R. Rowling in 1997. At the beginning of her beloved seven-book series, Harry was a scared and frightened boy just learning to cope with his wizarding ways. By the end of the epic tale, Harry had become an admirable, wise-for-his-years young man. His popularity is so far-reaching that the novels have been translated into 67 languages. In June 2010, Entertainment Weekly magazine named Harry Potter 2nd on the list of "Top 100 Greatest Characters of the Last 20 Years."
More proof of the Harry Potter craze -- the soon-to-be grand opening of a new Universal Studio 20-acre amusement park in Orlando, Florida called "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter." Scheduled to start wowing young and old fans alike on June 18th, the theme park will feature Howgwarts Castle, Hogsmeade village, Hagrid's Hut and other amazement from the books and movies. And, of course, marketing execs have it all planned out to coordinate with the Deathly Hallows movie sequel this summer.
Get into the hijinx by dressing up in your favorite Harry Potter costume. From Potter himself, in a gold and maroon scarf, sweater with Gryffindor crest, dark cloak and pair of round black glasses to any other of the cast of school chums - Hermione, Ron Weasley. Of course, you'll need all types of costume accessories to work magic such as a wand, wizard hat, book of spells and a trusty owl to deliver messages. Invisibility cloaks, chocolate frogs, marauding maps, and a Quidditch broom are all other useful items to have if you are a Harry Potter wizard.
